Learn to research, strategise, create campaigns, and automate supporter care using AI, not as a replacement for your thinking, but as a superpower that elevates it. The only course designed by fundraisers, for fundraisers.
See What You'll Build in This Course

The supporter journey with personalised comms and asks that increased giving 20%.
The free fundraising ROI calculator we created.
The Voice AI that books appointments and answers questions.
The ChatBot answering supporter questions about a campaign.
Plus many other examples of high-performing content, improved supporter experience and bespoke journeys.
Next cohort starts 26 February 2026
Most of what you've seen about AI in fundraising falls into two categories:
Breathless hype that makes AI sound like magic
Generic "slop" content that sounds like a robot wrote it
You've probably tried ChatGPT for writing appeals. The output felt hollow, lifeless, and nothing like your charity's voice.
You've seen AI-generated images that look impressively realistic but utterly soulless.
You've read articles claiming "AI will revolutionise fundraising" without explaining how or when to use it.
The Real Problem
It's not that AI doesn't work. It's that most people are using it wrong.
They're treating AI like a replacement for thinking rather than a tool to enhance it.
They're copying and pasting prompts without understanding the principles.
They're generating content without applying judgement, context, or humanity.
The result? Generic outputs that sound like everyone else. Campaigns that feel automated. Content that supporters can tell came from a machine.
Meanwhile, You're Facing Real Pressure
📉 Campaign timelines getting shorter while expectations keep rising
👥 Stretched teams trying to do more with less
⏰ Hours spent on research, strategy, and content that AI could accelerate—if you knew how to use it properly
🤷 Confusion about which tool does what and when to use each one
⚖️ Ethical concerns about using AI with supporter data responsibly
You don't need another "10 ChatGPT prompts" listicle or a demo of AI generating mediocre content.
You need to understand how to use AI as a thinking partner—one that amplifies your expertise, respects your supporters, and helps you work at the level you're actually capable of.
The fundraisers who are getting real value from AI aren't using it to do their work for them.
They're using it to:
Research faster so they can spend more time on strategy
Test more ideas so they find the brilliant ones quicker
Draft content so they can focus on editing and refinement
Automate repetitive tasks so they have time for relationship-building
Prototype concepts so they can fail fast and iterate
Free their brains from busywork so they can think more strategically
Think of AI like a highly capable research assistant, brainstorming partner, and first-draft writer combined.
It doesn't have your judgement, your understanding of your supporters, or your strategic thinking.
But it can do the groundwork so you can apply those things more effectively.
What This Actually Looks Like
Without AI:
Spend 3 hours researching corporate prospects manually
Generate 5 campaign ideas in a strategy meeting
Write one appeal letter, second-guess everything, rewrite it
Manually thank 200 donors with personalised touches (so you send generic templates instead)
With AI (used properly):
Spend 30 minutes getting comprehensive prospect research, then 2.5 hours on relationship strategy
Generate 50 campaign ideas in 20 minutes, spend the rest of the meeting evaluating the best ones
Draft 5 appeal variations in an hour, spend time refining the voice and testing different angles
Automate thank-you personalisation at scale while maintaining genuine appreciation
The difference? You're working at a higher level. AI handles the groundwork. You handle the thinking, judgement, and humanity.
That's what this course teaches you to do.

Craig Linton is the co-founder of Thread Fundraising and has spent over 25 years in the charity sector, specialising in the intersection of data, supporter experience, and individual giving.
Two years ago he was an AI novice - curious, but clueless on where to start. A conference talk sparked the art of the possible and he’s spent two years understanding AI, experimenting with different tools, turning ideas into campaigns and building apps and websites.
He's delivered bespoke AI workshops for major UK charities, built custom fundraising tools using vibe coding, and created frameworks that organisations across the sector now use.
Craig isn't a tech guru selling you tools. He's a fundraiser who discovered how AI could solve real problems and now teaches other fundraisers to do the same.

What makes this course different:
Every example is from fundraising, not generic business scenarios adapted for charity
The ethics module comes from years of actual GDPR and supporter care work
The prompts have been tested with dozens of fundraisers and refined based on what actually works
The tools we build solve real fundraising problems the Thread Fundraising team has encountered with clients
The scepticism about AI "slop" is addressed head-on because Craig shares the same concerns!
You're learning from someone who uses this stuff daily in real fundraising work. Not someone who just read about it or took a generic AI course and adapted it.
We believe the best learning happens when you share what you've learned. That's why we'll refund your full course fee if you contribute valuable content to the fundraising community.

You're right. There is a lot of AI-generated slop. That's because most people are using AI wrong: copying prompts, not providing context, accepting first drafts. This course teaches you how to use AI as a drafting and research tool while applying your judgement, voice, and expertise to create content that sounds like your organisation. Module 7 specifically addresses how to avoid generic outputs.
Only if you use it that way, which we explicitly teach you not to do. AI is a tool, like email or spreadsheets. Used poorly, it creates dependency. Used well, it frees you to think at a higher level. This course teaches you to use AI for groundwork (research, drafting, data processing) so you can focus on strategy, judgement, and relationships. The things AI can't do.
Absolutely. This course is designed for fundraisers, not developers. We start with the very basics (Module 1 literally covers "what is AI") and build progressively. If you can use email and Word, you can use AI. The vibe coding module (Module 9) is advanced but designed for people who've never coded. Several clients have successfully built tools with zero technical background.
For most modules, the free versions of ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini are sufficient. For advanced features (like building your AI Fundraising Brain), you may want to upgrade to paid versions (£15-20/month), but this isn't required to complete the course. We'll guide you on when upgrades are worth it.
Module 2 helps you draft an AI policy for your organisation that addresses ethical concerns, GDPR compliance, and supporter transparency. Many charities (and supporters) are more open to AI than you think. They just need clear boundaries. If your organisation has a complete ban, this course will still prepare you for when that changes (and based on sector trends, it will).
Plan for 1-2 hours per week for 6-8 weeks depending on how deep you go. All content is on-demand, so you can work at your own pace and fit it around your schedule. If you fall behind, you keep lifetime access to materials. Live sessions are recorded if you can't attend.
All live sessions are recorded and available within 24 hours. Many participants watch on-demand due to conflicting schedules. You'll still get full value from the course. Live sessions are a bonus, not a requirement.
Yes. We provide certificates of completion and detailed learning outcomes that can be used for CPD records.
No, though examples and ethical frameworks are UK-focused (GDPR, UK charity regulations, sector benchmarks). The AI techniques and tools work globally. We've had international participants in workshops who found it valuable. Just be aware the context is primarily UK charity sector.
You keep lifetime access to all course materials. Work at your own pace. The community is there to support you whenever you need it. There's no penalty or expiration for completing modules later. Many people revisit content months after finishing.
Yes! Teams often learn better together and can immediately apply techniques collaboratively. If you have 3+ people interested, contact us for organisational pricing. We offer significant team discounts and can tailor onboarding for groups of 6 or more.
You can continue with free community access forever (discussions, monthly webinars, basic resources) or upgrade to premium to keep accessing the Vault, advanced tools, weekly updates, and drop-in coaching sessions. Most participants stay connected in some capacity.
The webinar gives you a taste. One campaign built in 45 minutes showing what's possible. The course gives you the complete system across 10 modules, with hands-on practice building assets for your organisation, live support, ethical frameworks, and a community to grow with over time.
Yes. If you contribute valuable content to the fundraising community (blog posts, tools you've built, workshops), we'll refund your full course fee. It's our way of encouraging knowledge sharing and creating resources that help the whole sector. Full details and criteria provided after enrolment.
Great! This course will still take you further. Modules 4-10 cover advanced applications like strategic planning, automation workflows, and vibe coding that most AI users haven't explored. Prove your existing competency (show us what you've built) and we'll give you exclusive advanced content and look for some collaboration opportunities for more sophisticated challenges. Email us before enrolling.
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee after the course starts (up through Module 2). If it's not what you expected, request a full refund. No questions asked, no hoops to jump through.
No. AI is a tool that makes good fundraisers significantly more effective. It doesn't replace human relationships, strategic judgement, empathy, or creativity. This course explicitly teaches you where AI helps and where humans must lead. Think of AI as elevating your existing capabilities, not replacing them.
26 February 2026. Early bird pricing (£745) ends 12 February 2026 or when we reach 15 enrolments, whichever comes first.
Campaign timelines aren't getting longer. Teams aren't getting bigger. Expectations aren't getting lower.
But with the right AI skills - used thoughtfully, ethically, and strategically - you can work at a level that
seemed impossible six months ago.
This course won't make fundraising easy. But it will make you significantly more capable.
Not by turning you into an AI zombie who stops thinking.
By giving you a superpower that elevates the thinking you're already doing.
